Cloud & Compute Services Manager
Job purpose
The Cloud & Compute Services Manager is responsible for:
Developing the strategy associated with compute services for all PR global business units
In conjunction with the strategy develop the compute roadmap and associated investment/cost forecast
Compute infrastructure architecture creation
Development of staff to ensure key skills are aligned with the compute services roadmap
Ensuring the Compute team adheres to a rigorous demand management process in conjunction with all IT Operations service teams and Solutions demand management
Managing team to contribute to the agreed IT Global Operations KPI’s
In conjunction with the Cyber Security team and steering committee, responsible for ensuring that compute services level of cyber hygiene meets or exceeds the agreed requirements for Pernod Ricard
Execution of the compute aspects of the agreed PR regional or business unit disaster recovery plans
Oversee global compute projects build and administration
Carrying out technology watch, participating in general technical studies and its evolution as well as the qualification of the computing platform
Ensuring the technical support on compute services Level 2/Level 3 (engineering activities)
Defining and managing the compute service catalog
Operational vendor management and performance improvement
Main roles and responsibilities
Design and build of technical solutions (servers, database, middleware, …)
Responsible for the design of technical architecture and standards of compute services working in conjunction with all IT Operations teams and Solutions Technology teams
Thriving for best in class technology and delivery – e.g. Cloud Technology, future proof datacenter, modern tooling
Defining and managing technical reference regarding tools, procedures, standards, security, …
Verifying and analyzing technical impacts of new solutions and their consistency with the existing
Installing and maintaining technical platforms
Analyzing impacts of new project or new technologies on existing compute services architecture
Providing compute services expertise to support projects
Integration and technical coordination
Ensuring the coordination and the technical demand realization with other IT Operations teams
Verifying and ensuring the exploitability of solutions on servers, especially in terms of service level
Validating the feasibility of system deployment and integration
Managing all technical environments: development, testing, pre-production, and production environments
Managing the decommissioning of hardware or tools, aligned with infrastructure roadmap
Integrating new applications as well as the updates
Administration
Managing all required administrative activities related to compute such as backups, archiving, upgrades, supervision and monitoring, …
Change Control Process
Ensuring change control process is coordinated with other IT stakeholders and vendors that support IT
Assessing risks of change, within a complex environment
Technology watching and expertise
Technology watching by looking actively the latest solutions and best practices on the market
Making recommendations on technical upgrades and standards, working on compute services optimization
Proposing relevant innovation related to compute services (cloud computing, hybrid IT, …)
Technical support Level 2/Level 3
Ensuring compute services technical supports Level 2/Level 3
Working collaboratively with the relevant vendors to resolve compute issues
Security policies implementation
Ensuring the implementation of the security policies regarding compute service and following up the progress
Compute service catalog
Defining and managing the compute service catalog
Analyzing new requirements and new service level policies of compute
Vendor operational management
Responsible of vendor operational management and contract management by bringing his/her technical expertise on compute services
Ensuring the operational performance of the compute services vendor is aligned with the service level agreementBuilding a partnership with the vendors for joint roadmap, innovation, and delivery quality
Team management
Management of multicultural teams in distributed geographies
Management of teams in multiple models: internal, external, and vendor managed services
Providing leadership to a team of compute services experts, ensuring they understand their roles, responsibilities and KPIs
Scope
Team management: 20-30 FTE
Key internal stakeholders: All the IT Teams
Key external stakeholders: Vendors (external service providers)
Availability to travel: Frequently
Profile required
Education required: BAC+2/+4 (computer science) with relevant experiences
Experience / Background:
At least 8 years of experience in IT Operations / compute services
Previous management or team leadership experience; international experience a plus
Experience managing significant external service providers and associated relationships
Experience developing technology roadmaps
Experience successfully implementing agreed technology roadmaps
Experience delivering the right services at the right price in a rapidly changing business environment
Familiarity with project methodology
Experience interacting with various corporate profiles: technical personnel, end users, high profile
Experience managing significant IT budgets
Know-how and tools: (linked to tools/job/method)
Expert knowledge of traditional on premise compute platforms (server, SAN, etc.)
Expert knowledge of cloud compute platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure
Strong knowledge of general networking concepts
Strong knowledge of compute security design
Experience in Agile/Product models a plus
Language required: Fluent in English
