Marketing Director

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the overall direction and strategy of all marketing matters (Strategic Marketing, Operation marketing and PR) for Rakuten Aquafadas.

SUMMARY

Rakuten Aquafadas, a subsidiary of Rakuten group specialized in Digital content publishing and mobile solutions, is seeking its Marketing Director to create and implement comprehensive policies and programs related to corporate marketing. The Marketing Director will define and manage the marketing process from research & planning to execution & analysis. She/he will report to the CEO and will belong to the Senior Management Team. The Marketing Director will play a key & pivotal role identifying priorities for branding, market positioning, product development, solutions portfolio, services offerings and in defining / supporting sales objectives. This will include working with the company internal teams and with an ecosystem of Business Partners to develop a hybrid go to market. She/he will link with the Rakuten Headquarters in Japan and other subsidiaries to align with corporate branding and marketing programs.

COMMUNICATIONS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The position reports to the Rakuten Aquafadas CEO and serves as a member of his Senior Management Team. This position participates, with the subsidiary leadership team and other management staff, in charting the direction of the organization, ensuring its operations and assuring its accountability towards Rakuten Group.

Within our subsidiary, the Marketing Director position has primary working relationships with the Director of Finance, the CTO and head of Product, the presales Director and the sales Director (leading direct and indirect sales).

The Marketing Director relationship responsibilities also include managing the marketing team as well as external service suppliers to create and execute marketing programs.

The Marketing Director will also have close relationships with the marketing teams from Rakuten Group and Rakuten Europe subsidiaries to present, coordinate and align Rakuten Aquafadas marketing strategy/communication/PR with corporate communication, branding and to leverage corporate marketing programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Graduated from Business School with Marketing or a related field 8+ years' experience in marketing, communications or public relations with 5+ years' experience in a corporate management role Demonstrated excellent communication leadership (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Demonstrated experience in creating successful marketing and public relations collateral Acts as a role model to enable team to build and manage networks as well as successful customer relationships Strong project management skills, with ability to initiate and monitor several simultaneous projects Must be available to travel (international and national) Experienced in Strategic marketing and market intelligence Experienced B2B marketer with track records in developing marketing programs at global scale for B2B Previous B2B experience in technology companies (ideally ad-tech industry or SAAS) is required. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members, drive cross-team partnerships and initiatives within international environment Experienced in managing teams, budgets between groups and comfortable with matrix organization. Experienced in using and communicating performance metrics. Proven ability to influence others across the organization and build trust with a wide range of audiences Leader for change with proven track record of driving process and tools that improve operational scale and productivity Thrilled by new digital economy, fast-paced and changing environment Visionary insights, out of the box thinking and fosters innovation Fluent in French and English Position location offered in Montpellier, France.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY & RESULT AREAS

Creates, implements and measures the success of a marketing strategy that will enhance the company branding, marketplace position, sales performance and profitability. Manages and mitigates all and any risks to the Marketing strategy and defend Brand image, while ensuring compliance with Rakuten policies and with all regulatory regimes in each business Establish efficient strategic marketing, providing short-term & long-term market forecast & trends to influence products development, pricing, sales strategies & forecasting, addressing both direct and indirect sales. Defines and develops market intelligence metrics. In tight relationship with the product manager, drives market analysis and client studies to define product's strategy and product features requirements. Establish efficient operational marketing, developing short-term and long-term marketing objectives, plans and budgets. Ensures that evaluation systems, KPIs and analytics reviews are designed and executed. Responsible for the achievement of marketing, communications, media relations, advertising and marketing financial objectives (monitoring costs and budget) Defines and drives editorial direction, design, graphical charter, production and distribution of all marketing and communication collaterals (print and digital, such as Company's Website, email marketing programs, letterhead, use of logo, brochures, Social media posts… ) Develops, implements and manages channel marketing to strengthen and expand the Business Partners ecosystem including new partners acquisition, territory expansion and growth. Develops and maintains a comprehensive and efficient sales enablement programs and tools (including website, sales mobile applications, interactive presentations, product & solution description & ROI value proposition, clients PoCs…) for direct and indirect sales. Identifies and generates media interest for our Company acting as primary representative. Manages Press Release, coordinating with Corporate PR. Secure client satisfaction, market reputation and competitive positioning leveraging data, analytics and customers insights. Strengthens customer relationships by developing user-groups securing company presence at conventions, Industry associations, seminars... Builds, manages and maintains high performance marketing team capable of consistently delivering goals. Engages with agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers. Applies and promotes the Rakuten culture, ethics and values
