Global Marketing Manager - Skin Care

Mission and key responsibilities

Mission is to implement Solvay Novecare HPC Skin Care strategy, develop a product portfolio and a business in the Skin Care Ingredients market. The portfolio has to be aligned on the

market megatrend of consumers looking for natural and sustainable functional ingredients, and on Novecare Beauty Care strategy (Phoenix project).


Key responsibilities and deliverables for the Skin Care segment are:

- Manage performance (Sales, ICM, growth%, Opportunities pipeline) of the key global product lines / technologies relevant to the Skin Care segment (exact scope to be confirmed following portfolio moves)

- Build a product portfolio of Natural and Sustainable Skin Care functional ingredients, including positioning key products and developing sales argumentary

- Perform and maintain an in depth market intelligence for Skin Care

- Define the innovation strategy for Skin Care with R&I, including leading key projects and open innovation initiatives with external partners; giving direction to R&I for the technical work

- Interface with Strategic Accounts and target customers for Skin Care, in collaboration with GKAMs (global key account managers) and RMDs (regional market directors) to engage with key players

- Coordination of marketing and communication initiatives (digital, trade shows,...)


Operational Marketing and Product Line Management



Manage business performance (sales, margin, annual growth rate).
Manage key global product lines / technologies to optimize value creation, working closely with Novecare cross-functional team : Strategic Marketing, Product & Asset Management, Commercial Excellence, Communication. Exact scope to be confirmed following portfolio moves.
Build a product portfolio for Skin Care aligned on the market megatrend of consumers looking for natural and sustainable functional ingredients, and on Novecare Beauty Care strategy (Phoenix).
Coordinate new product launches (Training, Positioning, Pricing, Promotion, Brochures, PPT, other literature formats), as well as new Value Propositions launches (i.e. new formulation
concepts with existing products) on the market.
Manage the global opportunity pipe for Skin Care with support of regional BDMs. Support BDMs for opportunity generation, and for opportunity successful delivery. Foster partnerships and lead the Marketing and Innovation interface at Strategic Accounts of the Skin Care.

Market intelligence



Identify and understand key industry market trends. Deliver deep local/regional market analysis, focus groups analysis and customer profiles, in order to drive the development of differentiated innovation projects with customers.
Provide elements around key technologies in order to map the competitive landscape and contribute to developing Product Line strategies. Structure this business intelligence, and inform all relevant stakeholders within Solvay Novecare.

Innovation Strategy



Develop vision and a strategy based on an in-depth market understanding and robust segmentation to position Solvay Novecare in the right growth arenas and driving sustainable competitive advantage (in line with the Phoenix project).
Coordinate the global Innovation Pipeline of roadmap projects, be responsible for the financials, resources and overall pipeline value. This includes product positioning from the open innovation initiatives. Give directions to R&I for the technical work to be performed.
Monitor strategy implementation; assure delivery of the Innovation Strategic Plan, identify deviations, propose mitigations. Recommend new areas of focus to drive strategy of innovation, as well as for acquisitions and joint ventures purposes.

Education and Experience:



Scientific and technical background in chemistry , formulation, consumer markets, with previous experience in Skin Care market. Understanding of skin science / skin biological
mechanisms.
Business/marketing background (MBA, or on job business experience), with more than 5 years marketing experience in Beauty Care / Skin Care.
Hunter / entrepreneurial spirit, driven by delivery of business results. Strong team player and ability to navigate in complex organizations.
Experience with product launch in the Beauty Care market, development of 5 year strategic roadmap/operational marketing plan.
Experience in building and managing open innovation projects and technological partnerships.
