SuperGrid Institute is recruiting a Marketing Manager

The Institute for Energy Transition (“ITE”) SuperGrid Institute is a company that brings together industrial and academic partners in Villeurbanne (Lyon), France. Its role is to develop technologies for the future power grid in order to meet the challenges associated with the wide-scale integration of renewable energies and energy transition.

General context

The research and innovation institute, SuperGrid Institute, is an independent company that, like any other company, must ensure its growth and sustainability through its revenues. These revenues are mainly the product of licensing patents and providing services, such as carrying out tests on platforms or providing grid studies and consulting services.

To achieve this goal, SuperGrid Institute must implement a structured and dynamic sales and marketing strategy. It needs ensure efficient coordination between its research programs and value-creation projects in order to achieve its sales objectives, while offering its customers technologies and services that meet their needs and the needs of the electricity grids of the future.

Job overview

Within this context, the Marketing Manager will work as part of the Sales & Marketing team and will be responsible for structuring and leading the SuperGrid Institute’s Marketing activity. He/she will provide high quality service to SuperGrid Institute’s internal and external clients, and will play an active role in the identification, qualification and quantification, prioritising, promotion and sale of the Institute’s value propositions. In short, he/she will ensure that SuperGrid Institute’s value propositions meet the needs of the market and the expectations of its customers.

Duties and responsibilities

SuperGrid Institute’s Marketing Manager will report to the Sales & Marketing Director. His/her responsibilities will include:

Identifying and studying accessible markets: market qualification, evaluating potential revenues, completing competition analysis and strategic positioning of the institute (SWOT); Being proactive in proposing unexplored markets and new commercial opportunities for the Institute; Putting in place a marketing watch to detect market evolution, opportunities and competition; Attending relevant conferences and conventions; Enriching the Institute’s value propositions with regard to market expectations; Taking part in selecting and prioritising the solutions to be proposed to the market (technologies and services). Actively participating in working groups with corporate and R&D programs members; Developing strategic marketing on the solutions to be proposed to the market: identifying target customers, collecting market data and prices, studying competition, ensuring strategic positioning and supporting the sales strategy; Generally providing marketing support for internal teams, in particular: Assisting the value-creation & intellectual property department, Contributing to sales activities, helping define and implement the commercial strategy and action plan, assist in developing a “business” culture within the company, Support the Institute’s communication activities, with particular focus on designing promotional tools for SuperGrid Institute and its solutions.

Required experience

Master’s degree with dual competency in electrical engineering and B2B Marketing. 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in the field of electrical networks and/or high voltage DC networks.

The successful candidate will have the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

Developed sales and people skills Attentive and analytical, with the ability to synthesise information Highly developed communication skills, both written and spoken, in English and in French Open-minded and creative Rigorous and proactive Result orientated A good team player with a sense of collective intelligence Enthusiastic and energetic

Other information
