About the Role

If yes, then we have an opportunity for you as our Chief Underwriting Officer's Office (CUOO) Governance professional!
In this newly created role, your main responsibility is to act as first point of contact for our business partners with regards to all underwriting related Governance, Risk & Control topics. You will be working closely with underwriters and product centre personnel across the globe.

You will have the opportunity to assess our current governance landscape and actively build and improve our UW governance frameworks to protect our business, to exchange knowledge, collaborate and support global initiatives.

Your main activities in particular
You build new and maintain and improve the existing underwriting governance frameworks of our Corporate Solutions underwriting business.
You work closely with CUO Office colleagues, UW Center Heads and Underwriters on implementing governance standards to strengthen the underwriting process.
Your goal is to strike the right balance between process efficiencies and adherence to relevant underwriting standards.
You implement controls to assess the effectiveness of the underwriting framework and report breaches and initiate necessary remedial actions.
You work closely with governance, legal, compliance and risk management functions across Corporate Solutions.
You proactively drive identification of potential gaps in governance and identify areas for improvement whilst at all times ensuring appropriate consistency between lines of business, regions and team (global perspective).
You stay calm, focused, and resilient in difficult times, providing business partners with clarity on a way-forward.
You are comfortable in applying data analytics and visualizations to highlight concerns and for monitoring purposes.
About the Team
The Chief Underwriter's Office (CUOO) reports directly to the Corporate Solutions Chief Underwriter (CUO). The team is diverse, global and delivers support and services to the CUO and all lines of business Heads. The CUOO mission is to deliver International Business Excellence, quality Governance, Contracts & Wordings and DOO related activities to the UW leaders and our Corporate Solutions business more broadly. As dedicated underwriting governance specialist with a good understanding of the technical nature of underwriting and related business processes and requirements you will serve as a true partner to our UW business.
About You
We are looking for you if you have the following skills and experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in the commercial insurance industry, P&C underwriting experience is a 'must'
Governance (or equivalent) experience a 'must', in the context of underwriting would be a significant advantage
Ability to deal positively with ambiguity and many diverse topics.
A strong sense of ownership for timely and high-quality delivery with strong customer focus.
Experience in building governance frameworks and leading global projects and change initiativesProfound proficiency in MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, advanced PowerPoint
You are a self-motivator, have excellent organizational skills, strong analytical skills to resolve complex problems and have a commercial mindset.
You understand business partners' needs, you challenge the status quo and strive for efficient solutions.
You are discrete in your ability to handle confidential information and thrive on the opportunity to work independently.
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, organizational and execution skills
Mentality to learn and fail fast, be agile, be hungry to succeed and create strong relationships across all functional boundaries.
