Job summary:
Senior UX Designers are responsible for delivery of innovative, intuitive designs, that will make a real difference to Avid customers. You will work within the design team at Avid and will take a key responsibility in translating complex design problems into simple, streamlined, easy to use interfaces that delight end users. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure design intent is met, and a high quality product is realized. The key to success in this role is managing user requirements, technical and time constraints as well as business objectives.

Responsibilities Plan and conduct user research and competitor/comparative analysis Interpret data and qualitative feedback Create user stories, personas, and storyboards Determine information architecture and create sitemaps Conduct usability testing, working with customers for discovery and testing ideas Have and maintain deep understanding of user requirements and use this to drive design thinking. Spot opportunities to improve upon existing user experiences and iterate designs to get to the best solution. Define intuitive user interaction models and user flows, based on real user needs. Create and maintain wireframes, visual mockups and prototypes that communicate desired user flows, animations, transitions and intended style. Work across a range of platforms, from desktop to mobile applications, ensuring a consistent experience whatever context the user is in. Communicate ideas and concepts quickly and effectively with other designers and engineering teams across many geographical locations, using justification based on real scenarios and end to end experiences. Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical and time contraints, and adapt designs where necessary to get the best UX possible. Help to progress and maintain the product design system, to ensure continuity and consistency across applications and platforms. Provide guidelines on how the design should scale responsively, to ensure a great experience at all screen sizes. Ensure design proposals meet accessibility requirements
Minimum requirements At least 5 years of hands on experience creating complex design solutions for large organisations. Proficient in a range of UX software, for example, Sketch and InVision Bachelors Degree or equivalent in UX design is a plus Knowledge of workflows for TV, Film and Post Production is a strong plus
Skills Excellent interaction design skills, with ability to generate mockups and animated protoypes to communicate intended user flows. Experienced in planning and conducting user research and usability testing Ability to generate content that is directly usable by engineering teams. Creative thinker with excellent problem solving skills Fluent in English with excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences. A keen eye for accuracy and detail Knowledge of agile Understanding of responsive design An excellent team player with the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team Ability to work with deadlines in a fast paced environment
