Senior Data Governance Analyst

AXA Corporate Center’s main missions are to:

Steer the entities in order to ensure the coherence of the strategies, the consistency of the commercial approaches as well as the optimization of the risks and results;
Defining and coordinating Group policies, different transversal projects and standards, identifying and sharing best practices;
Supporting the entities in order to help them to grow, to develop their offer, their management and steering standards as well as their risk management.

The head office of AXA Group (GIE AXA), based in La Défense, gathers the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities according to the Group's strategy and is responsible for managing international projects. The headquarters is composed with over 1000 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities).

Management Presentation:

You will be joining Information Management team, led by the Chief Data Officer (CDO), whose main mission is to setup and deploy the Data Strategy across the AXA Corporate Center through

(i) Data Governance and Quality framework (including Data Privacy & Data Security)

(ii) efficient Data Architecture design

(iii) Data Operation services and (iv) Data Culture fostering.

Information Management team relies on three sub-teams:

Data Governance
Data Transformation
Data Operation

Main purpose:

As a Data Governance Analyst, reporting to the head of Data Governance, you will be responsible for deploying, monitoring and improving the data governance framework across AXA Corporate Center. You'll be responsible for bringing data governance expertise, facilitating interactions between business and IT stakeholders, sharing best practices, and ensuring data standards and policies are known and duly applied by all business teams.

This governance framework aims at:

Building and maintaining a central and unique referential (through Collibra tool) on processes and data to ensure operational efficiency, internal simplification and systematic capitalization on our existing assets
Clarifying accountability on data to optimize data architecture (reduction of duplicates) and improve data quality
Defining and enforcing data governance rules and standards, ensuring compliance with external regulations (GDPR, Solvency II…) and efficient data management (data flows, data deletion, ...)

Core activities:

What you will be responsible for:

Lead deployment and monitoring of data governance framework across the Corporate Center
Perform cartography and recertification exercises with business teams in order to document the relevant processes, technical storage items (tools) and data which have to be included in data governance framework
Along the cartography and recertification exercises, apply methodology of data documentation and classification to feed adequately the Business Glossary, Data Dictionaries (including data lineage) centralized in our governance tool Collibra, ensuring to upload only what is necessary and added-value generator and ensuring to maintain constantly up-to-date information
Be a Data Governance referent, working closely with Data Owners and Data Stewards among all business teams to answer to their questions, provide orientations and ensure framework is enforced
Collaborate with data transversal stakeholders (Security, Data Protection, Risk ...) to ensure global alignment on data policy and effective segregation of responsibilities between them (as data control functions, 2nd LoD) and data operational teams (business teams, 1st LoD)
Contribute to management of Collibra tool, the central referential for processes and data information
Master tool capabilities both from an end-user perspective (browsing, search, views…) and from an admin one (import/export data, data quality review, access rights management…)
Animate trainings and provide support for end-users
Participate in monitoring and value creation tracking of data governance activities
Update the data policy over time with new/amended requirements when necessary
Perform analysis on Collibra content to bring insights on Corporate Center practices: process optimization, data management, potential risk areas…
Monitor data governance KPI, ensuring objectives are reached and breaches are identified to escalate accordingly
Prepare support documentation and participate to Data Committee
Promote data culture across the Corporate Center and contribute to improvement of data maturity through diverse communication formats and events

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Business and Soft skills:

Analytical mind: you have strong analytical skills and a critical mind
Eager to learn: you are curious and proactive, passionate about data related topics (and ready to learn if you are not an expert already) and driven by the will to have an impact and bring value to the organization through data
Organizational skills: you are rigorous, autonomous, structured, organized, and can arrange appropriately to keep the defined deadlines. You are also able to identify obstacles and escalate accordingly
Communication skills: you know how to adapt communication to different stakeholders, visions, and needs
Languages: you speak French fluently and have very good English level (both written and spoken)

Technical skills

At ease with new technologies in general, using them to ease and/or automate your activities
Proficient in data manipulation (import/export, merge, formula, quality checks, charts and visualization..) through at least Excel or other tools (e.g. BI tools)
Able to draw flowcharts and/or restitute visually and in a compact format information through at least PowerPoint (or Office 365 apps like Excel, Word, or any other flowchart drawing-like tools)
Knowledge of Data Governance tool is a plus: Collibra, Informatica…
Knowledge of following tools is a plus:
BI tool: Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau…
Other Suite Office apps: Power App, Power Automate, Forms

Background and Experience:

Master’s degree in Business or Engineering, with a business data orientation
4 years of experience is required, which relied notably on:
Project skills position, autonomy-based and client facing jobs such as Audit, Consulting, Analyst, Project Management...
Jobs with direct application of data management (e.g. through data manipulation, data analyses, data governance including data protection and security…)
Experience in a Data Office team is a plus
