The context

Fusion Invest is Finastra's dedicated asset management solution. Our product enables our clients (insurers, institutional investors, banks, asset managers, etc.) to manage their positions in real time, and to monitor their risks and their performance. As a business analyst intern, you will join the "Product Management" team which is respo nsible for defining the strategic roadmap for the Fusion Invest product in association with the client teams and the clients themselves, for its implementation, monitoring changes to its ecosystem (regulations, technology and market, interfaces with third - party systems), the test book, internal and external documentation, as well as post - delivery support to the Consultants, Marketing and Sales teams. Due to the central position of the Product team, there are many opportunities for internal career developmen t, particularly positions towards client implementation consulting, or pre - sales, or even towards other products in the Finastra portfolio.

The Responsibilities

Since the 2008 - 2009 crisis, the regulation of financial markets has increased significantly. This trend is particularly evident in the field of asset management where it has been an increasing cost for more than 10 years , impacting revenues. Despite an increasingly present standardization in all financial markets worldwide, many loc al specificities continue to exist. For some geographic areas, many regulatory changes are in preparation and may pose challenges for asset managers who must adopt them in the years to come. This includes, but not limited to , regulations for :

• Insurance and pension funds,

• Linked to sustainable finance,

• Alternative assets,

• Counterparty risk and collateral management, etc.

The objective of the internship is to analyze these specificities , based on reports from various strategic analyst firms, monitoring social networks or specialized information sites, or taking advantage of the expertise of certain internal or external contact points at Finastra . M ore precisely:

• Produce a state of the art of the latest regulations in certain strategic market segments for Finastra,

• Based on previous discoveries, w ork closely with product managers on the definition of Fusion Invest strategic roadmap:

o Centralize business requirements coming from teams across various locations, seek input on future directions of the product and propose enhancements in the application.

o Track and manage feature evolutions, defects and validate priorities and corrective plans.

•Deliver those roadmaps:

o Animate the development cycle and communicate its progress on a regular basis

o Identify b usiness scenarios: liaise with consultants to identify real business scenarios from various roles ( e.g., trader, portfolio manager), write these “user stories”.

o Build functional specifications: liaise with development teams to determine the best design fro m a scope and cost perspective matching the business scenarios, write these requirements.

o Continuously review the functionality under construction and perform early - stage testing.

o Deliver training to quality assurance teams, and review with them the test p lans for verifying both the software correctness and the coverage of business requirements.

• Provide expertise in your domain from both business and technical angles:

o Train and support pre - sales, consulting, and support teams.

o Spread knowledge internally (R &D, BA, Distribution teams) through thought - leadership presentations.

The r equired s kills, k nowledge & e xp e rience

• Graduated from a m aster’s degree in mathematical , computer science , or finance from engineer , business school or university

• Interest in Financial Engineering , Financial Markets and Regulation , as well as Asset Management, Investment Bank ing

• First successful experience in quantitative and/or qualitative finance area (school project, previous internships, etc. )

• Interested in learning how to translate business requirements to functional specifications

• Excellent analytical skills

• Problem solving, proactive attitude

• Good team player

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal (English certificates Cambridge, TOEFL, IELTS are a plus)
