Purpose
The Systems and Data Management Division is responsible for key business analysis, business projects implementation, and user support processes related to implementation of the Wall Street System application (WSS-TRM) and APEX (mainly in the EIB Finance Directorate). This in order to ensure the alignment of these applications with operational needs; and configures and/or validates instruments in the borrowing and treasury modules of the WSS-TRM application in order to support the borrowing and treasury front-office activities of the Bank.
Operating Network
The job holder will report to the Head of Unit. He/she will co-operate closely with the other teams of the Division and will be in working contact with WSS-TRM and APEX users in Finance Directorate, Financial Control, and Risk Management Directorates regarding business aspects, and with IT about technical aspects.
Accountabilities
Act as a project manager on various simple and complex business projects in the area of Borrowings and Treasury (e.g. new product implementation, new payment processes setup, etc.);
Participate in Bank-wide projects and ensure the setup of the different processes going from instrument configuration, the creation of portfolio structure including the settlement, accounting, limit and valuation processes as well as the reporting needs;
Analyse business requirements, specifications, impact on business processes, rules, procedures and resources;
Provide specific advice and recommendations in a proactive way in the functional areas covered by WSS-TRM/APEX in order to foster optimal usage and to enable the user community to reach the Bank ’s objectives;
Provide functional support to business users in Finance Directorate, RM Directorate and Financial Control;
Organize regular meetings with WSS-TRM and APEX users and IT to be aware of their needs, to keep them informed and to prioritise and co-ordinate WSS-TRM/APEX related work;
Register change requests in Remedy System; follow up and document resolutions;
Gather and prioritise user requirements for maintenance and developments, support end-users in drafting business specifications, follow-up implementations;
Configure instruments in the borrowing and treasury modules of the WSS-TRM application in order to ensure a smooth processing and management of the transactions traded.
Qualifications
University degree in business administration, IT, finance or project management
At least 3 years’ experience in the financial sector, in audit companies or business consultant companies
Excellent knowledge of bank’s back office processes (validations, reconciliations, payments execution, swifts, etc.) is required
Experience in IT systems implementation projects as a Project Manager or a Business Analyst would be an advantage
Expertise in financial analysis as well as in reporting is a strong asset
Knowledge of the Bank’s core applications namely WSS-TRM (Wall Street System) and APEX would be a distinct advantage
Solid proficiency in the use of PCs and IT systems is required
Expert Excel knowledge is a must. Knowledge of Business Objects andSQL would be nice to have
Experience in the establishment of procedures is an advantage
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and understanding of French. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
