Reporting to VP Global P&G Account and part of the Global P&G Account Leadership Team (one of IFF’s top 3 clients).
To provide support and enable the global account team to build successful commercial strategies, drive value creation (profitable growth and margin improvement) and make well informed business decisions.To continuously improve on business processes, data accuracy, management reporting and commercial project management tools.The Global Account – Business Analyst will essentially create value and manage complexity by making sure:
Business operation processes are in place - Areas of improvement (vis-à-vis processes) are identified regularly and acted upon
Key Responsibilities:
Analyses & Reporting
Provide monthly results and insights on the variances vs previous year and budget
Coordinate Sales Budget & Forecast process for the account team
Preparation of the analysis/data on Account performance, outlook and profitability for the monthly business review with management
Sales Variance Analysis
Provide Gross Profit analysis on a monthly basis including insights
Provide accrual estimation to finance team and calculate the rebates related
Provide and analyze reports from Business Warehouse
Centralize & be the owner of all financial reporting & key account KPI (incl. Economic Profit) – ensuring relevance & accuracy throughout the year
Analysis the financials every quarter and the key insights from investor conferences
Consolidate a global account report (semesterly) and global projects list (monthly)
Price Negotiation Support and Cost Optimization Activities
Consolidate cost data provided by pricing team, insights provided by the Purchasing team and then help build negotiation strategies for semesterly price negotiation with the client, capturing learnings to ensure continuous improvement and successful negotiations.
Provide price quotations and estimate sales and profit impacts for commercial deals
Track, record and measure value of activities and services to the client. (eg estimate savings offered to the client through price decrease, rebates, cost optimization activities)
Update Cost Optimization Document (Recap of ongoing deal/saving activities) for monthly discussion with the client
Work with VP Global Account on new commercial deals/business models for management validation internally then on the negotiation of them with the client.
Global Coordination
Orchestrate key financial & other internal C&A activities (e.g 5 year Strategy Refresh, Quarterly RSFs & Budgeting, Market Potentials etc.) along the year requiring action by the global team, ensuring standard procedures and best practices are followed for each activity
Support the Global Account Director for presentation with management and other stakeholders
Support Global Business Development Manager with data mining & analyses
Centralize ad-hoc requests, leveraging prior work and ensuring minimal disruption to account-team
Establish best practices for global back-office/account support team vis-à-vis internal IFF systems & processes (SAP, BW, PUMA)– engaging IT support where needed to automate (e.g mass-upload)
Global team meetings and calls
Setting up agendas, taking minutes, following up on actions and generally supporting internal Global Account Leadership team meetings
Skills/Education – Ability to learn new systems
Advanced Excel, SAP, BW & knowledge of IFF’s systems – Bachelor or Master in Finance – MBA preferred. Minimum 3 years work experience in a relevant role.
Project Management
Ability to lead internal and external groups, and manage the process to completion.
Communication skills & detail oriented
Excellent verbal & written communication skills; Accuracy is critical
Ability to communicate & work with a global team; able to give and receive feedback openly
Courage to be transparent about issues
Fluent in English and ideally good level of French
Ability to work independently
High level of proactivity and initiative taking
Understanding of Budgeting/Forecasting/Finance/Pricing to analyze and give appropriate insights, conclusions and recommendations.
Organizational skills.
Need to manage many different tasks at the same time maintaining accuracy and service attitude.
High responsiveness, but not at the cost of accuracy.
Agility to move between changing priorities.
