Your daily tasks

Exchange with client to understand his business objectives and specify a mathematical formulation of real world problems Develop mathematical formulations of real world problems Apply sound statistical and machine learning techniques to help inference and decision making Identify patterns and insights in datasets by exploratory analysis and unsupervised learning Analyze and communicate model results for a technical or non-technical audience, notably with the help of great visualizations Prototype algorithms and help software engineers deploy them to our production systems Read academic papers or blog posts in order to master the state of the art in our domains of interest, and share the insights with your colleagues

Skill set

Must have at least 2 years of experience Curious, passionate, avid to learn Strong analytical skills (statistics + machine learning + programming) Strong communication skills (problem specification, presentation & data visualization) Robust & systematic approach to problem solving Eager to apply those skills in a business context

Minimum qualifications

Background in econometrics, mathematics or engineering in general Strong understanding of high-level machine learning concepts, and intimate knowledge of specific algorithms Strong mathematical skills, in particular Statistics (descriptive and inferential) Basic knowledge of computer science algorithms and data structures Experience with tools adapted to data science (python or R) and of related packages (pandas, scikit-learn, ggplot2, dplyr…) Fluent in French and proficient in English

Preferred qualifications

Experience in any of the following fields: social network analysis, natural language processing, information retrieval, semantic web Fluent in SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) and server-side programming (bash) Experience with Spark and the Hadoop ecosystem Real-world experience of massive datasets analysis Strong computer science skills and ability to help developers deploy software in production Experience with visualization tools like Tableau Software Apply for this job
