DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage others, promote, and participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives, focusing on continuous improvement. This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statuses related to the site.) Responsible for following the policies and procedures, maintaining the finance processes and, supporting the overarching finance objectives. Consolidates and analyzes financial data, taking into account company’s goals and financial standing. Inclusive of tracking key operational objectives, metrics, and strategic initiatives. Summarizes results demonstrating financial status and risks, in a consistent format that can be used by business leaders. Supports periodic financial reporting requirements such as: External Audits (Interim and Year-end), Internal Audits, R&D Tax Credit filing, Impairment Analysis, and other ad-hoc reporting as needed. Manages capital expenditures for R&D department, including analysis of investment requests, tracking expenditures, budgeting and forecasting, and maintain internal control of assets. Provides key support for R&D budget process through maintenance of project-based budget templates, collection and integration of budget inputs into project based reporting tools and the corporate budget system (Hyperion), and reconciliation and analysis of data inputs. Maintains the month-end close process for all R&D functional departments, including journal entries, account reconciliations, data consolidation, financial reporting and variance analysis. Demonstrates project based accounting fundamentals required to establish labor rates that effectively absorb labor costs into projects, manages MS Access database and other reporting tools that consolidate project spend across multiple systems, and reconciles project based reports back to General Ledger balances. Other responsibilities as assigned and may take part in functional projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

University Degree (BA degree) required.Bachelors’ Degree required in related field such as accounting/Finance. Minimum of 2-4 years experience required. MBA, CMA or CPA working towards preferred. IFRS, GAAP, ERP system, and Hyperion working knowledge.Proficiency in wide application of technical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques in financial analysis, forecasting, and data reporting structures Advanced proficiency required in MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, Powerpoint, Oracle, Hyperion and various financial software.
